Trump Senate picks win big |
|
President Donald Trump backed several candidates for Indiana Senate seats in a call for vengeance against senators who defied his orders to vote for redistricting.
Gov. Mike Braun celebrated with a post to social media: "Historic night for Indiana as Republicans stood with me and President Trump to nominate some great America First conservatives."
At least five Republican candidates defeated incumbents.
But anti-incumbent fever wasn't as evident in the Indiana House races, the Indiana Capital Chronicle reports. |

1 data center OK'd, others paused |
|
The Indianapolis City-County Council voted to approve the proposed data center for the Martindale-Brightwood neighborhood, despite months of pushback from the public. WFYI has the story.
The Council also then unanimously passed a resolution to pause data center development in Indianapolis, but it's up to the city's Department of Metropolitan Development to make those decisions. The department is proposing zoning rules that would define “data centers” in the city’s code — and establish where they can be built. WTHR has the story. |

IHSAA approves NIL for athletes |
|
High school athletes in Indiana can now monetize their name, image and likeness (NIL) beginning with the 2026-27 season. Students can take part in Personal Branding Activities as long as they don't promote their high school or wear their high school uniform. WNDU has more about the changes. |
